Blood and DNA Testing

Why consider testing?

Understand how your genetic profile influences your wellbeing and discover how your body responds to nutrition, activity and daily habits. The DNA Testing offered by Luventutis Lumina Aesthetics is designed for individuals who want greater control over their health. With tailored DNA insights from Luventutis Lumina Aesthetics, you can make informed choices that align with your individual biology and support better long-term health. Using a straightforward blood sample, this test reviews up to 40 important genes linked to areas such as weight management, physical performance, injury susceptibility, mental well-being, nutrition-related conditions and sleep patterns. With personalised findings, you can shape a nutrition and lifestyle approach built specifically around your genetic make-up, helping you make more effective decisions to feel at your best.

What is genetic testing?

Genetic testing examines variations within your DNA that may influence your health. These variations, sometimes referred to as genetic changes, can provide useful guidance for future care. Research shows that a notable proportion of otherwise healthy adults carry genetic markers linked to increased health risks.

For those looking to take a proactive approach, Luventutis Lumina Aesthetics offers testing designed to provide meaningful insights based on your DNA.

There are two main approaches to testing

Screening tests are suitable for individuals seeking a broad overview, without a known condition. This may include those with a family history of certain illnesses or concerns about inherited risks, despite having no symptoms. In this type of test, uncertain findings are not typically reported.

Diagnostic tests are used when there is a specific concern or suspected genetic condition. In these cases, it is strongly advised that results are reviewed with a specialist. Genetic counselling is available, and a referral may be recommended if results indicate a potential risk.

Why genetic testing may be beneficial

These assessments provide a clearer understanding of potential health risks based on your genetic profile. They do not predict that a condition will develop, but instead highlight whether your likelihood may be higher than average. With this knowledge, your clinician can guide you towards appropriate monitoring and preventative steps, focusing on areas where you may benefit most.

How the process works

We arrange an initial consultation of around thirty minutes, during which we will explain the testing process and recommend the most suitable panel.

A blood sample is then taken and sent for laboratory analysis. While testing can be carried out using saliva or tissue, blood samples are preferred as they reduce the risk of contamination.

In your follow-up appointment, we’ll review the findings in detail and, where necessary, develop a plan to manage and reduce any identified risks.

Understanding your results

The analysis provides insight into how your genes may influence a range of health factors. By understanding these risks, you and your clinician can take a more preventative approach, creating a personalised plan focused on maintaining long-term health.
